Give a Day

Event Assistant

Radio Shepton will be holding regular fund-raising events. We often need a small team of supporters to help with these events. You may get involved in selling tickets, manning the door, showing people around a venue, publicising the event, making tea and coffee, washing up, marshalling and much more.

What's involved?

You will need to communicate with the Event Organiser who will provide you with a list of duties and what is required of you.

Marshalling: You will be given a brief health and safety induction, some high visibility clothing (if necessary), and precise intructions about your meet-up time, suitable clothing, role and reponsibilities, health and safety and departure times. You will also be given a contact name and number for you to report to before or during the event.

Raffle: Fund-Raising events include selling raffle tickets. You will be responsible for collecting the prizes, arranging them on display at the venue, purchasing raffle books and claiming back your expense (if youwish), selling the tickets, drawing the raffle and announcing the prizes.

Door Person/Meet and Greet: You will be given a brief health and safety induction, some high visibility clothing (if necessary), and precise intructions about your meet-up time, suitable clothing, role and reponsibilities, health and safety and departure times. You will also be given a contact name and number for you to report to before or during the event.

Beverages and Snacks: We often need volunteers to sell a small stock of tea and coffee, snacks sandwiches and this forms a vital part of any well--organised meeting or event. Youw will discuss the requirements with the Event Organiser and agree what items will be sold and what prices.

Why get involved?

Every job within the Team is vital. It doesn't matter whether you are making the tea or helping to clean up afterwards. Without your support Radio Shepton would not be possible because it relies heavily upon fund-raising and many hands make light work.

How to get involved?

1. Make contact with the Event Organiser by emailing radioshepton@gmail.com

2. Inform them that you have completed this application to become a volunteer.

3. Arrange a meeting with the Event Organiser to agree the details of the event and identify any training requirements.

4. Complete any agreed training prior to the event.
